Do you think Taylor and Lou Ann will get along now that they are living
together? How might each influence the other and what might each of
them learn about themselves now that they are living together?
Now that Taylor and Lou Ann are living together, I think that they will get along just perfectly. When they first meet, the chapter shows how they interact with each other and they continuously made each other laugh. Sharing their stories made both of them feel a sense of comfort and tranquility. It was obvious that these two had a lot in common, especially towards the end when Lou Ann tells Taylor that she talks just like her. When they start to get to know each other even more, they'll discover the differences between their personalities. I think they'll both be very supportive of each other throughout the tough times they face as they live in the same abode. Taylor will be more of the backbone of Lou Ann since she seems to be a little more confident. Their opposite characteristics will benefit both of them because what one lacks, the other will have.
Yes I think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along with each other since the two are now living together. As instantly they met the two bonded and had lots in common both being from Kentucky and both having a child of their own with no support system. Lou Ann for example says towards the end of the chapter that Taylor talks just like her which might mean something special. Also the fact that when the two told stories about their lives the felt comfortable with each other and overwhelmed and happy.
I feel that Taylor will help Lou Ann get her life on track and even maybe help her get a job since Lou Ann is so confused about her life already. She will be a support system to Lou Ann and help her life get going hopefully. Lou Ann however might influence Taylor with the way of her parenting style as will Taylor. Now since the two are living together I feel the two will learn more about themselves since the two both have different personalities.
I believe that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along just fine. From the minute they first met, Lou Ann and Taylor got along very well, and it wasn't like Taylor was trying to impress her either. Lou Ann told Taylor that she spoke just like her, and that shows the similarities between the two characters. I think that if Lou Ann had more support in her life, she would probably be a lot like Taylor. I think that they're both going to learn something from each other. Lou Ann is probably gonna learn how to be more independent from Taylor. I think Taylor's going to teach Lou Ann how to stand up and defend herself, because after Taylor asked Lou Ann if they can live at her house, Lou Ann started to talk herself down, and Taylor told her to never talk about herself like that. She's probably going to help Lou Ann have more confidence in herself. As for Taylor, I think Lou Ann is going to show how to be a better mother and help her raise Turtle. Although, both of them are new mothers, so I think they'll start learning how to raise their kids together. They're both single mothers. They don't have a man to support them, so instead, I think they're going to learn how to support themselves, their children, and each other.
I like this comment because it gets to the point and also has personal thoughts as well to it and the fact she talks about single mothers and how they are both independent. Finally the fact that the she talks about how Taylor will show having confidence to Lou Ann
i think taylor and lou ann will get along well because they both seem to really like each other. They both have a lot in common, like how theyre both single mothers and how they both speak like each other. I think taylor will influence lou ann to be more forward and not be so shy, and i think lou ann will teach taylor to be a little more quiet and how to put up with other people's crap w/o saying anything about it. however, i think lou ann has a little more to learn than taylor does.
I believe that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along perfectly well. And now since they are living together they will experience changes together and not be alone to deal with them. It was amazing how they first met and they instantly acted like they were family. Lou Ann was in a good mood, and Taylor was being respectful in many ways. They connected more on a deeper level than just becoming house-mates, they became a family. Furthermore, I have a feeling that Taylor is going to help Lou Ann get back into her life and be mentally and physically active while with her baby. Since Lou Ann is still trying to get back onto her feet, Taylor will be a good support system and help with whatever she needs, and back her up in personal times also. On the other hand, Lou Ann might affect Taylor in a negative way. Since Lou Ann was raised from parents in an older era she may treat Taylor differently than a mother figure. They will both have to learn about each others characters and personalities to really help support each other in times of doubt.
According to how the introductions had been between Lou Anne and Taylor, I think that they will turn out to be good friends, and I think they will benefit each other based on their personality differences. What I mean by that is since Lou Anne has more of a pessimistic personally, and Taylor seems to be the mere opposite, Taylor will teach Lou Anne to be more positive and even "rub off" some of her positive thinking to Lou Anne. In addition, since both have experienced the whole notion on the leaving of their families, they may share their experiences as independent individuals who are trying to make it in life, and become successful. First gearing towards Lou Anne, I think she'll learn the importance of trusting and becoming more positive and seeing the brighter aspects of life, as well as becoming more confident in herself because of the help of Taylor. Now looking at Taylor, I think she'll begin to realize she isn't the only one with the problem of having to take care of a child, and also learning to become more responsible and respectful towards Turtle. Together, Lou Anne and Taylor will help each other through the experiences and actions that they do.
Everything from they way they met to the similarities between these two characters, of course Taylor and Lou Ann will get along fine now that they are living with each other. Right off the bat, "Within ten minutes Lou Ann and I(Taylor) were in the kitchen drinking diet Pepsi and splitting our gussets laughing about homeostasis and bean turds" (75).
Influencing: As for influencing one another, I feel that both Taylor and Lou Ann will influence each other in positive ways. Taylor will influence Lou Ann to be more positive as seen on page 79 at the end when Lou Ann says that her and her child look horrible will Taylor and Turtle are perfect. Lou Ann will influence Taylor in to having a better mother – child relationship. Since Lou Ann is taking care of HER OWN child, she shows more care, attention, and love towards her own child, than Taylor with Turtle. (Taylor and Turtle are fine just not in a strong mother – child relationship as Lou Ann and Dwayne Ray)
Together these two will live together in a positive way, being there for each other when possible.
I like this comment because I like the fact that it also gives textual evidence to his opinions. I think this has strong opinions and a lot of good predictions to how they will influence each other.
I think that Lou Ann and Taylor will be great friends because from the moment they met they seemed to really like each other. They have a lot in common such as their home towns being in Kentucky, both being away from family, and having a child to raise on their own. I think both of them being away from any kind of family will make them closer because they will be like family to each other. Lou Ann has needed some positivity in her life for a while now and Taylor is perfect for that because she is a very positive person that may help Lou Ann's view of the world. Lou Ann needs a friend that wont judge her which is shown when she decided to tell a random man about her problems in the last chapter. Taylor can be this person that doesn't judge Lou Ann and helps her get through tough times.
I agree with your analysis. They seemed to immediately click when they met each other and started sharing a lot of their lives with each other. I think they will get along well.
I think they will stay together for a long time. First of all, Lou Ann and Taylor's characteristics are very different but they also have many similarities. Lou Ann is pessimistic and also passive, she is a mature woman but she is not tough enough, yet Taylor is a girl who directly showing her thoughts and judging the society by her own opinion. So basically these two people can form a mutual support system and remedy respective problems. We can find out that Lou Ann admires Taylor's trait which is decisiveness, and Taylor also approves Lou Ann's thought. They understand respective situation and could avoid those mistakes that already happened on one of them. Just like the story The Wizard of Oz, they will find out what they want and gradually learned how to become a satisfactory person.
In chapter five we got to see the way Lou Ann and Taylor interacted with each other, and I think from reading this chapter that they are going to have major positive impacts on each other's lives. Since Lou Ann and Taylor are in a very similar situation they can relate to one another and understand what they are going through. Which I think will lead them into a strong helping friendship.Lou Ann and Taylor also seem to have a lot of differences, especially in the way they approach things. Lou Ann goes with the flow, does not stand up for herself, and basically takes up every comes to her. On the other had Taylor is planned out, and stands up for herself and what she believes in. I actually see this as a good thing though, because they can help each other and influence each other to become better people. I think Lou Ann is going to learn from Taylor how to have a positive attitude towards things and how to become more independent. And I think Taylor is going to learn from Lou Ann how to be a better mother and create a strong relationship with turtle. Overall I believe that moving in with each other is a smart decision. Together Lou Ann and Taylor will become each other's missing support systems.
I do think that they could possible not get along to much because of the negativity that Lou Ann portrayed throughout the novel. Even if Lou Ann has some negativity to Taylor, I can't help think Lou Ann be would influenced by Taylor greatly considering how she's experience all sorts of help and support all around the book. They also find the similarities of each other from both having to raise babies with the struggle they are having taking care of them. They both would additionally find what it means to care for someone that needs it and how they could learn how to make a a change for themselves.
Yes, I do think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along, because of the way they acted the first time they met. They were both laughing while telling each other stories and having a good time with no worries. They both have a lot in common especially when Lou Ann says that Taylor talks just like me and that they are both carrying a baby with no husband or support. I feel like Taylor will help Lou and move forward in life and help her in difficult situations, because Taylor is the more stronger and confident person.
I like how this response shows that Taylor is the more strong and confident person than Lou Ann. This response then by saying Taylor is stronger and more confident shows that she is going to have a greater impact on Lou Ann than Lou Ann influencing Taylor. That the negativity surrounded by Lou Ann will have less of an effect than Taylor giving Lou Ann positive energy.
I think that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along now that they are living together. They have so many things that they are able to learn from each other. When they first met, they seemed to have more of a connection than when Taylor went to the other house with La-Isha, Fei, and Timothy. But when Taylor and Lou Ann met, they already seemed to be laughing and having a great time within the first ten minutes. They are so similar in ways that they both have a child, they both are from Kentucky, they've been to the same concert at the same time, etc. Right away, Taylor wanted to move in with Lou Ann because she thought that she would be the perfect roommate for her. They will influence each other in a way that they will both act as a support for each other. I think that they will encourage each other and boost up their feelings/emotions. Even though Angel isn't really with Lou Ann, she now has Taylor to be with her and guide her. It's almost as if they now have a small family. It shows how they are beginning to influence each other on page 79. When Lou Ann talks down on how someone like Taylor came to a nobody like Lou Ann, Taylor gets upset and encourages her. Taylor explains how she is just the same as Lou Ann is. I like the end where it says, "'It's been so long,' she said. 'You talk just like me.'" Lou Ann is probably glad that she finally has someone she can relate to and someone she can depend on and talk to. All in all, I think that they are a good balance between each other and will learn new things from each other.
I believe that Taylor and Lou Ann will get along fine now that they live together. I think that Taylor will sort of mentor Lou Ann in becoming a stronger person mentally. When they first meet, they laugh together, and I think there was a strong bond from that point on. As I said, since Lou Ann's Mother and Grandmother have left so she has no support system constantly around her. I predict that the new support system will be Taylor. They connect a lot because they have most of the same life aspects, they bot have a child to care for, There sort of on there own in an unfamiliar area, and they both grew up in Kentucky. By the end of the novel I think that Lou Ann will be courageous and free to speak her mind.
From the beginning of this chapter, I saw the instant connection between Taylor and Lou Ann. Taylor had just lost her job and was looking for a home when Lou Ann's house was in an advertisement. After crossing out her first choice, Taylor goes to Lou Ann's house and they have a great time together. They make fun of the hippies' lifestyles and realize that they kind of talk and act the same way. I think that these two, like every normal friendship, will have miny fights, but end up getting along more then fine. I think that they will become each other's confidants and support systems. They already have built trust because they shared each other's stories.
I think that Lou Ann and Taylor will have a great influence on each other. Lou Ann lacks confidence, and I do not blame her because she was denied and rejected by her true love. Taylor, on the other hand, has a lot of confidence and knows how to encourage people because she was raise with encouragement. Taylor can help Lou Ann accept who she is and to love who she is. They both could learn from each other's mistakes and give advice for parenting.
I like this blog because it goes into great detail about how Lou Ann and Taylor might connect later on in the story. I also agree with a lot of your commentary about Lou Ann and Taylor having a big influence on one another.
Now that Lou Ann and Taylor are living together, they will be able to help each other with each others children. Lou Ann lacks the confidence she needs to get through life as a single mom, and Taylor lacks the independence she needs. They will help each other become better people, and I think they will become really close friends. Lou Ann even pointed out that Taylor reminds her of her past self, and that they act the same.
I believe that in chapter 5 Lou Ann and Taylor will have a special bond. They will be each other support system. Lou Ann will help Taylor with turtle and how to properly handle a baby. Lou Ann will also have a positive person support her and her choices in life because of that I feel that Lou Ann personality will change. Lou Ann will eventually have a back bone and learn hoe to stand up to her self. Even though they might be getting along now they might not later on. Maybe further on the story there will be some disagreements because they come from different background and have different personalities. If they do end up creating a strong bond not even a argument will get between their friendship.
I think they will get along now they are living together. I think this because there are similar in ways but at the same time they are different. They will both influence each other in positive ways one could depend on the other for support. I think it might be awkward at first but once they open it up it will be better. they will learn that they are similar in many ways.

ReplyDeleteI like this one because it relates in a way to what I said in mine.

I like this comment because it clearly states on what the blog is asking, and also gives good reasoning within the two answers.
DeleteI like your blog comment because you gave the idea of how they have opposite personalities that will be affected within the story.

I agree with your statement because it make sense. I likes how you predicted what would happen to Taylor and Lou Ann relationship.
DeleteAccording to how the introductions had been between Lou Anne and Taylor, I think that they will turn out to be good friends, and I think they will benefit each other based on their personality differences.
